What is LUMECCA?
LUMECCA is the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat pigmented and vascular lesions. After just one treatment, clients notice significant improvements in the complexion & clarity of the skin. LUMECCA operates using photothermolysis, which provides a photo facial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment.
In just 1-3 treatments LUMECCA improves the appearance of:
Age spots
Sun damage
Rosacea (redness)
Freckles
Vascular lesions
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
LUMECCA can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are those that are commonly exposed to the sun. This often includes the face, neck, décolletage, hands & arms.
WHAT TO EXPECT THE DAY OF TREATMENT?
When you arrive for your first LUMECCA treatment, we will cleanse the treatment area & apply a thin layer of gel. Eye protection will be provided to you to protect you from the flash of the IPL. During the treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the LUMECCA that feels like a light elastic sensation. We begin by doing test spots in the treatment area to assess for comfort & efficacy. LUMECCA treatments are fairly comfortable & do not require topical numbing.Treatment time varies based on treatment area, but is relatively quick.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER LUMECCA?
Slight redness & a warming of the skin are normal after treatment & usually subside within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; over the course of the week, the pigmented lesions flake off, leaving you with a more even skin tone. After treatment of vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch & disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days. You may put makeup on later that day to cover any redness or darkened pigment.
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- Avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning 1 month prior to treatment
- Shave excess hair 1-2 days prior
- Arrive with clean skin free of make-up, lotion or other topical products on the treatment area.
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- Avoid direct sun & tanning for 3 weeks, use a Mineral SPF 30+ Sunscreen
